Faith Muthambi admits to hiring (only) nine family members

Public Service Minister, Faith Muthambi says her department is hard at work dealing with corruption.

Answering questions in the National Council of Provinces on Tuesday, Muthambi told the public service and administration portfolio committee that she did nothing wrong in hiring a significant number of family members in her department reports EWN reporter, Rahima Essop.

She said that everything she did was in line with regulations and the ministerial handbook.

Today she told Parliament she only hired nine people and they're competent South African's who deserve to be there.

According Essop, Muthambi was unable to respond to a question about whether or not she would employ those family members if they were not related to her.
