Enter Apple’s new iPhone…
The Money Show’s Bruce Whitfield interviewed Stuff magazine editor Craig Wilson.
Wilson discussed five surprises from Apple’s new iPhone:
It supports a wireless charging standard called Qi (pronounced “chee”) that other manufacturers use too. This suggests it'll work with the same wireless chargers that other brands use (including in-car charges in some luxury vehicles, IKEA furniture, etc.).
Apple says the Face ID (facial recognition) that replaces the fingerprint sensor from previous models can't be tricked by photos or masks, and you'll need to be awake and deliberately looking at it to work (so the kids can't point it at your face to unlock it while you're sleeping).
You only get two storage options (64GB or 256GB).
You can make silly faces that it'll map onto animated animal faces called "animoji" (animated emoji).
- It'll likely cost at least R20 000, making it the most expensive smartphone in South Africa.
